escapism by amanda mason

For this Sunday we have something special for all of you from the land down under: the works of Amanda Mason. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, this photographer and designer works freelance from her hometown creating suggestive and evocative images using expired Polaroid films and new instant films from The Impossible Project. Amanda creates and shoots environments that are, sometimes whimsical, others twisted, but always interesting, with a powerful narrative thread and sense of storytelling. She takes advantage of the characteristics inherent in film to conceive images that encourage viewers to escape into another world inspired by nature, literature and Surrealism, a place that stands between waking and sleeping.
