¿Cómo has sentido esta acción colaborativa con lamono y Bubel? Me encantan las publicaciones de lamono, especialmente las de arte. He estado muy involucrado con unos pocos proyectos muy buenos de publicaciones y sospeché, basándome en la calidad de lamono y en los artistas que aparecen, que esta colaboración debería ser impresionante. Así ha sido.
¿Cómo definirías tu estilo? Me considero un dibujante de criaturas de oficio. Conjuro a mis personajes desde mi subconsciente por lo que supongo que el proceso me hace ser un surrealista. A menudo ignoro el medio ambiente y el fondo para centrarme en la figura, cosa que me hace ser un surrealista figurativo. Creo que responder creador de criaturas es la respuesta más simple.
¿De dónde nace tu inspiración? Me desahogo con una teoría propia de la biomorfología emocional, un fenómeno que se forma en mi universo alternativo donde las formas de las personas se basan en sus estados emocionales y psicológicos. Imagina que lo que estuvieras sintiendo se manifestara físicamente. La mente de una persona puede desconectar e irse flotando, o sus cuerpos pueden aumentar de manera desproporcionada, o les pueden brotar múltiples ojos. Estos seres son como nosotros, pero no son nosotros. Son poderosos a la par que impotentes. Luchan contra con la fealdad y debilidad pero también desde la paz con ellos mismos.
¿Cuál es el fin, el objetivo de tu arte? Intento dibujar una narración con introducción y final que empuje al público a imágenes irresistibles (y con un poco de suerte fuertes). No cuento la historia entera porque quiero que el público se comprometa con la creación y se cuenten a ellos mismos sus historias basándose en lo que están viendo.
¿Qué cambiarías a base de arte? No estoy seguro de si entiendo la pregunta. ¿Qué cambiaría de mi arte? Estoy introduciendo más contexto y personajes en cada trabajo, haciéndolos más complejos. Si la pregunta es: ¿Qué cambiaría en el mundo con mi arte? No espero cambiar nada más que los materiales que estoy usando y las perspectivas del público.

How has you felt this collaborative action with Lamono and Bubel? I love books, especially art books. I have been involved with a few nice book projects and I suspect, based on the quality of the lamono’s production and featured artists, this book collaboration should be extra awesome!
How would you define your style? I consider myself a drawer of creatures by trade. I conjure my characters out of my subconscious so I suppose that process makes me a surrealist. I often ignore environments and backgrounds and focus on the figure to that would make me a figurative surrealist. I think creature creation is the simple answer.
Where is born your inspiration? I work off a self-created theory of emotional biomorphology, a phenomenon that takes place in my alternate universe where people’s physiques morph based on their emotional and psychological states of mind. Imagine if what you were feeling manifested itself physically. A person’s head could disconnect and float away, or their body could grow an extra or disproportionate limb, or they could sprout multiple eyes. These beings are a lot like us, but not us. I see these beings as both powerful and powerless. They struggle with their ugliness and debilitation but are also somewhat at peace with it.
What is the goal of your artwork? I try to draw an open-ended narrative that pulls the viewer in with compelling (and hopefully powerful) images. I don’t tell the whole story because I want the viewer to become engaged in the work and to tell themselves their own story based on what they are seeing.
What would you change with some art? I’m not sure if I understand the question. What would I change in my own art? I hope I am doing that now by introducing more environments and characters into each work, making them more complex. If the question is what would I like to change in the greater world with my art? I don’t expect to change anything other than the materials I am using and a tiny bit of a few viewers’ perspectives.
