The rentreé is cohere for the surf world, guys. The Cote des Basques Surf Club hosts the Biarritz Belza Classic’s inaugural edition to take place September 24, 2016, with an option to postpone to Sep. 25 if surf conditions require it, at the world famous surf beach of la Côte des Basques in Biarritz and sponsored by RVCA.
A 1-day invitational competition gathering 12 male and 4 female log-riders, the Biarritz Belza Classic marks another stepping-stone in the return of competitive longboard surfing to its French and European craddle, the renowned beach of la Côte des Basques having witnessed one of the first documented surf sessions in Europe, back in 1956. It’s an event that will give some action to this beautiful beach where the surfers hang out every day with their families. It took some time but finally Biarritz is re-launching a long-riding event, with the famous Belza villa in the background and decades of surf history on all minds.
With its unique format mixing talented men and women on set to display skills of classic noserides as well as modern longboarding moves, the Biarritz Belza Classic promisses some fun, competitive and inspiring action in a friendly and grassroots mind set. Not to miss!
